Statement My current practice is exploring, collecting & the reconstruction of forms & controlled environments within urban & rural community setting. The reinvention of domestic, industrial materials & equipment, in the development & direction of new works. Endeavouring to develop a sense of encounter & to alter the relation between, the sense of place, installed work & the audience. Daniele Poidomani
Daniele Poidomani is a giant-puppet designer, maker and performer. He has worked all over Australia, parts of South East Asia, South America and Europe either performing, running puppet-making workshops and directing. Daniele has designed and built giant puppets for the International Daidogei Festival of Shizuoka (Japan), the Thames Festival in London (UK) , The Word Social Forum in Porto Alegre,(Brasil) and many others. As artistic associate of Snuff Puppets, Daniele has collaborated to most of its productions since 1998. In recent years his experience has extended to direction and set design with both local and overseas companies. Other projects highlights include: ‘The Village Festival’, ‘Stop That House’ and “Wish Street” (Polyglot Puppet Theatre), ‘Apple and Ladders’ and ‘Quarrelling Pair’ (Aphid), ‘The Meat Show’ (Town Bikes), the 'Nyet Nyet's Picnic' at ASSITEJ Youth Festival in Adelaide. After creating the Water Ghost float for the LAHOS Festival in Yilan (Taiwan) in July 2012 Daniele is currently on a Europe and South Korea tour performing with the Snuff Puppets’ show Human Body Part. |
